Disc Golf European Open 2011 featured the fifth edition of the Presidents’ Cup team competition in Nokia, Finland. Played in beautiful conditions,
the competition was again dominated by Team USA. For the fifth time in a
row, US took home the Cup – this time with a score of 29 against Europe’s
9.
The brightest star on the American side was Nate Doss, but not far from
him was Europe’s Simon Lizotte, who took home the majority of Team
Europe’s points. According to Jussi Meresmaa, the creator of the
Presidents’ Cup concept, it was Team USA’s competition experience that
made them victorious today.
- When we get to the match play and play man against man, it’s the
Americans that set the pace, said Jussi after the prize ceremony.
The event was broadcasted live via DiscGolfPlanet.TV with Avery Jenkins as
a special guest commentator. The scores were updated live throughout the
competition.
